Relevant teaching strategies may also be explored. The book(s) chosen will be read independently and outside of the group’s meeting times. A portion of the Book-Study Circle hours may be designated on the application as hours during which participants will read the chosen book(s). Group participants will meet to share ideas and insights on how the book topic will be used with their students. Participants earn one in-service credit for 15 hours of circle work.&lt;br /&gt;The &lt;strong&gt;Professional Circles&lt;/strong&gt; program provides teachers with structured time outside of the regular school day for reflection on their classroom practices. The&lt;br /&gt;application is presently being reviewed by the NYS Education &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:verdana;color:#330000;"&gt;Department Grants Finance office. Since the staff in Albany &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:verdana;color:#330000;"&gt;has been reduced, this process will take some time.
